I had a real blast from the past recently.
My place of work decided to reward us for a safety record.
They treated us to some pizza.
And not just pizza, Pizza Hut pizza which was my favorite.
I remember going to their buffet and having five, six pieces of pizza and more, and not thinking of it.
Of course, I cancelled out all the calories by going to the salad bar.
That works, riiiight?
Well, I hadn't had a slice of pizza for two years now, and I felt a little deprived. So I decided to have me a little bit of a slice.
It's amazing how much your taste changes when you've been used to healthy eating.
I ate that small piece, and YUK!
It was so greasy,
and I spent hours trying to get the greasy taste ouf of my mouth.
It may be two more years before I have another slice, if then.
I found I can do without all that fat,
And not feel deprived.
after all, the alternative was killing me.
So, one challenge past. Today is Cinco de Mayo.
With all that food that goes with it.
