Sunday and the sun is shining

Just back from our new Church, we went back again this week, the coffee is that good. This week we cycled there, all of 5.75 miles there. Obviously we cycled back so 8.42 miles back - we came home the pretty route, because we could. So all in all, 14.17 miles in 73 minutes so very happy with that.
This week has been hot and busy. We viewed the flat that we were interviewed for. We were assured that the downstairs lady in a nice woman with a cat and not a mass murderer (see previous blog), not that we thought for one second that she was, it was a throwaway comment that I made, as you do. We have 1/3 of the back garden and all of the front garden.
The rooms are a little smaller than we imagined but we just love it. The housing association is giving us a cleaning grant, and paint to decorate. The last tenant was a fan of sludge coloured paint and we are not. We have asked the housing peeps to leave the carpets and the nice blind in the living room. The kitchen is hilarious. 6' x 6'3". I had better not put any weight on or I won't fit in it. However if I do put weight on and can't fit in the kitchen I guess that I will be loosing it fast enough if I can't get in to cook
We have completed the paperwork, got a letter from the local authority about Ken being ill & on sickness benefit (a pittance but we have to jump through these hoops) as it exempts him from paying 'council tax', or a bit of it anyway. I am not exempt from paying council tax (like rates for those not in the know) so having jumped through the hoops, we get an £8 discount every month. Every little helps, as they say. We get the keys this coming Wednesday and we officially start our tenancy on the 13th. We get the 5 days grace to decorate out the sludge coloured paint, clean, tidy, hang curtains and move in. Life is good.
I have a Church Zumba thing coming up too. Never done Zumba, is it difficult as I have zero co-ordination, I can barely walk and eat cake at the same time! It'll be a laugh anyway.
Packing is calling, as is getting out of my stinky cycling kit.
