It's Over

Sunday, May 05, 2013

I think it's over for a while. Winter, that is. (I whisper it quietly, I don't want to tempt the Fates!)

There's beauty in every season but for me, there's such a special sweetness to Spring. Discoveries waiting around every corner and old friends who have returned. There's a moment every Spring when I'm sitting in the afternoon sun and I feel victorious; I made it through the Winter!! This year it took a little while longer to get to that point but it's here now, the realization that I can wait for what's worth waiting for and that patience pays off. (And that patience is something we have to practice every day.)

Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. ~Rachel Carson

Today will be spent contemplating the beauty that resides in me, grateful for the old friends in my life that have returned (perhaps they never went away and it's me that has returned - hmmm, another blog for another day) and ready for the discoveries that wait for me around every corner.

And to remember the value of patience.

    Thanks for sharing!

In the St. Louis area we finally got past the flooding & had four days of sunshine & about 85 degree temperatures. Then it dropped into the 40s & we've had so much more rain which of course means more flooding. At least we didn't get snow like the west side of the state got. Hope we have time for some spring before we get summer!

I saw a number of lilac bushes yesterday that were showing the first signs of budding. A few days of sunshine just might transform the view!

Beautiful thoughts! There is something magical about Spring; when I lived in FL, I always felt I was missing something! Spring, for me, means a rebirth, an awakening, a breath of fresh air!

You are beautiful!!! Have a wonderful Sunday! emoticon

Nice thoughts! I know here in PA, we are enjoying our first real spring in about three years. For the past three years we have been going from winter to summer! This season is so beautiful! I grew up in Florida, (southern most tip, take a wrong turn you're in Cuba area) so to see this beauty is really a treat! Enjoy!
