5-Factor Fitness - Week 8 of 10 Report

Sunday, May 05, 2013

I started this challenge on April 21st and committed to a 10 week challenge. I did 'ok' the first week, but with some life events - I let stress get the best of me and slipped with eating/exercising. I skipped the week 9 weigh in/progress but pleased to share with you my week 8 report today.

Starting weight - 172
Week 8 - 170 (down 2lbs)
Goal for June 30 - 154.5

As I review this past week, I am very pleased with my progress. I was on track with each workout and my eating/drinking was on track. I have been alcohol free (AF) since April 29th and I know for me this will be the key to success... I have developed a new mantra that seems to be helping me when I have that little emoticon emoticon debate... and I say to myself 'Do I want a Drink or do I want to Shrink'... and I say - no thanks I'm shrinking emoticon

I'm truly observing the changes that need to take place in my life in order for me to succeed on this health journey and it involves a change in the way I think... Take for instance last night - I found out I was going to be alone and both girls were out overnight. Normally that would have meant having drinks - but instead I focused on my challenge/goals. And do you know what?! I feel so great about it this morning!

My meals yesterday were liquid only - as I followed a suggested regime/plan featured in a recent Woman's World magazine to consume just protein shakes (fruit or veggie) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also finally was able to get my hands on some LaCroix sparkling water (while the flavours are limited for now) - I have been waiting for this product to come to Canada forever because I am trying to cut back on diet sodas or make a full switch. LaCroix water is completely chemical free, no sweeteners, nodda. I bought the grapefruit, lemon and lime flavours and they are nicely refreshing.

Today is a planned rest day on the 5-Factor Fitness and an allowed cheat day where I can eat a bit more than the norm, but I will still be mindful and I will remain AF.

My motivation this week is to land back in 160Ville by next Sunday's weigh in!! I haven't been back there in a while.

It's going to be another gorgeous day so I'm going to take advantage and take a long walk by the river... it will be my meditation walk as I find being near the water so soothing...

Happy Sunday SP Friends!!
