5-Factor Fitness - Week 8 of 10 Report

Sunday, May 05, 2013

I started this challenge on April 21st and committed to a 10 week challenge. I did 'ok' the first week, but with some life events - I let stress get the best of me and slipped with eating/exercising. I skipped the week 9 weigh in/progress but pleased to share with you my week 8 report today.

Starting weight - 172
Week 8 - 170 (down 2lbs)
Goal for June 30 - 154.5

As I review this past week, I am very pleased with my progress. I was on track with each workout and my eating/drinking was on track. I have been alcohol free (AF) since April 29th and I know for me this will be the key to success... I have developed a new mantra that seems to be helping me when I have that little emoticon emoticon debate... and I say to myself 'Do I want a Drink or do I want to Shrink'... and I say - no thanks I'm shrinking emoticon

I'm truly observing the changes that need to take place in my life in order for me to succeed on this health journey and it involves a change in the way I think... Take for instance last night - I found out I was going to be alone and both girls were out overnight. Normally that would have meant having drinks - but instead I focused on my challenge/goals. And do you know what?! I feel so great about it this morning!

My meals yesterday were liquid only - as I followed a suggested regime/plan featured in a recent Woman's World magazine to consume just protein shakes (fruit or veggie) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also finally was able to get my hands on some LaCroix sparkling water (while the flavours are limited for now) - I have been waiting for this product to come to Canada forever because I am trying to cut back on diet sodas or make a full switch. LaCroix water is completely chemical free, no sweeteners, nodda. I bought the grapefruit, lemon and lime flavours and they are nicely refreshing.

Today is a planned rest day on the 5-Factor Fitness and an allowed cheat day where I can eat a bit more than the norm, but I will still be mindful and I will remain AF.

My motivation this week is to land back in 160Ville by next Sunday's weigh in!! I haven't been back there in a while.

It's going to be another gorgeous day so I'm going to take advantage and take a long walk by the river... it will be my meditation walk as I find being near the water so soothing...

Happy Sunday SP Friends!!

Good luck on 160ville! I know you will make it. And yes, being AF plays a HUGE role in that. Good for you on your streak! I'm working on one right now myself.

I got unsubscribed and just realized I hadn't read anything lately. I LOVE you know I would LOVE your drink or shrink. I am so happy for you and I know you will lose when you keep at that motto. That is so fantastic especially with all your trials lately. CONGRATS

I got one from PIXIE-LICIOUS am I hungry enough to eat an apple? Amazing how many times I think no... oh okay don't eat then.

now must scroll up and keep on reading! HUGS

That is great! Sounds liek you are doing really well in sticking to your plan. Just one quick thing, did I misunderstand or are you really trying to go from 170 to 160 in a week? I am all about realistic goals, because I feel like I set myself up for failure when my goals are unachieveable or the results unattainable...but maybe i misunderstood.

In any case, keep up the good work!

I really like the LaCroix water. I also drink Perrier with light lemon or grapefruit flavor. I can get a good deal if I buy them in bulk at Costco. I have to admit that I still indulge in a diet soda now and then. But much less than I used to.
