1st day off in 2 days, working 12 hours can be so stressful, hard to fit in 8 glasses of water especially when I have trouble fitting in a pee break! Of course the fast paced world of ER is exciting but sometimes its a bit too exciting and I succumb to my stress fall back of sweets. Had 2 cookies yesterday because we were so busy and I was getting my butt handed to me and I just couldn't say no. I am an emotional eater I know but at least I didn't stop at fast food joint. The hospital cafeteria makes it easy for me to get salad though so I stated taking the lean Cuisine salad thingies and picking up the Romaine from the café. Thankfully the Romaine doesn't weigh hardly anything on its own so I get it super cheap when they weigh and charge :) Been reading more on the website and getting more inspired, getting ready to make my trip to the market so hopefully I will less inclined to pick up crappy easy food. Gonna pick up some stuff for work so that I can make a few recipes I liked :)

    I have a fast-paced job too and some days I barely have time for lunch. Its so easy to just grab some crappy snacks and compensate for the lack of downtime in that way - self gratification at a different level.... I find my best bet is to avoid the dining room altogether... I hate eating at my desk, but I get work done and I'm not surrounded by people with bad eating habits ... which can be contagious.... and no food pushers at my desk either....
