Back Tracking: Day 6

Saturday, May 04, 2013

My body is going in reverse... I have been exercising every night and working so hard to keep my meals at healthy levels but I have officially gained all my weight back! I'm so frustrated. I do not understand what happened. It was the BIGGEST let down to know I have to start over. I cried. I did a double time workout tonight. I used our Xbox Kinect and worked out for 30 minutes running in place and boxing and hurdles, then did 100 crunches and side bends (for those oh so lovely love handles)plus I walked a mile around my house. Anyone have suggestions to help me get back to where I was. Any exercise tips are welcome. Thank you guys so much!

Looking at my fitness tracker it seems I'm burning to many calories but the goal they set for me seems really low. How do I know how many calories I need to burn a day in comparison to how many I take in? Any ideas and thank you for responding and for the encouragement!

If it were me, I'd check and make sure my calories goals are right. If you are burning that much extra and not making up for it and getting too little calories, your body will hold onto extra weight to compensate.

I haven't read any of your other blogs or page- but also if you are really close to goal weight, its normal to fluctuate 5-10 lbs in just a day. Try to weigh in once a week, at the same time of day, with the same type of clothes on, on the same scale, and in the same place. Even using the same scale on a different floor of your house can change what your weight reading is.

Lastly, if none of the above apply to you, take a step back and take a really honest look at your food. Are you guesstimating a lot? Are you taking a handful of something here and there and assuming because its so little it doesn't need to be tracked, or just plain forgetting to track it? I often have this problem, and measuring with actual measuring spoons/ cups/ scales a couple days usually helps me get a better idea of what I need to change. I often forget to track beverages, and have now set my tracker up to have an extra category just for drinks so I don't forget to track them. Even a little milk in your coffee, or lemon in your water, adds up after a while.

Hope this helps! :) Good luck! You can do it! Don't give up!
