I am still not feeling 100%. I am thinking maybe it is a virus because my daughter came down with it today. My stomach isn't as bad as it was, but the headache is still there.
This morning it was still sort of rainy. I had two properties to show. I don't think it will go anywhere, but face time is always good. I decided I still wasn't feeling well and I had the house to clean so we just went to get lunch. I had half a turkey sandwich and a salad with the dressing on the side.
After that, went home, took a nap, watched the Kentucky Derby and decided to take Summer for a walk. My DH and DS have been having trouble walking her as she isn't very good on the leash. I wasn't going to let that keep happening. I've trained enough horses; I certainly know how to train a dog.
She was quite a workout, but she learned that pulling wasn't acceptable. We worked on the red light/ green light method. She is learning and didn't pull me much, but every time my husband took her, she would run in circles around him. He would always end up face to face with her. He needs to be trained as much as she does. We did a two mile walk. I was sweating pretty good. She is a lot to handle. But, it felt good to be outside walking again.
Sydney hasn't been able to do Walkies for quite a while. Even Syd got into the groove today though. We got back and hooked up Summer out back and Syd came out. She was actually running part of the time she was out. Haven't seen that in a long time either. I did talk to the vet today and we did talk about increasing Syd's medication, but there are risks to that and the question is whether the side effects of the increased dosage of the steroid is worse on her that her weak back legs. The way she was running around today and going up and down the stairs, I decided to hold off on increasing the dosage.
She is definitely putting Summer in her place. That old girl holds her own pretty well. She even goes down and takes Summer's bones. Then she went into Summer's crate and took her treat lol. It's good to see Syd be Syd. Today marks 13 years since we adopted Syd.
After all that, needless to say, the cleaning did not get done. But, it was nice to spend time with the dogs and to see Sydney so happy. Tomorrow, I think I have 2 showings and then I will get in some time with JC. Can't forget him either. So many animals so little time
