Easy Split Pea Soup

Saturday, May 04, 2013

Its pretty cool what u can discover when u start to think outside the box. Since I'm doing more plant based meals I've finally started looking into some new recipes. Found "easy splt pea soup" crock pot recipe on spark and I have to say....delicious!

I made some changes so here is what I did....

3 cups of split peas (1 lb bag)
6 cups water
3 cups veggie broth
1 1/2 cup chopped carrots
1 1/2 cup chopped celery

Toss all into crockpot set on high for 4 to 6 hours

Add:
1 cup whole grain brown rice

Let stand till rice cooks up and your good to go! :-) Easy "pea"sy!

Sorry the pic is so yellow...lighting in my kitchen is not the greatest...lol.
Ok...Enjoy!
