So, we sorted everything out at the gym and everything is okay. No need for some people to have a gym but for me it keeps me from wandering off and doing something else. If I was working out to a DVD at home...I would wander off to the conversation outside or something.
been going since April! There are a couple of days I had to skip for valid reasons but I love going and working out.
Today, I absolutely kicked my butt. Did 45 minutes on the elliptical. Sometimes, I will do 20 minutes, sometimes an hour. The elliptical is the most challenging machine for me in the cardio area and sometimes I want to get off after 5 minutes. Sometimes, 5 seconds! What helps me is my Ipod. Music helps me significantly through the tougher parts of the workout! I especially enjoy listening to upbeat songs by Pink when I am on that challenging elliptical.
Did another 40 minutes on the Cross trainer. Listened to Bon Jovi mostly...then a a couple of upbeat songs from Katy Perry.
Next...10 minutes on the upright bikes. Recumbent bikes are a little more comfy but still, there's something about those upright bikes. Listened to a a few Kelly Clarkson songs. Music is what makes the workouts fun. It can be kind of boring without it but that's just me. :)
Then I spent a little bit of time in the weight area. Some of the machines are pretty simple to use but some look intimidating but you can always ask the workers how to use a machine or how to adjust it or what is the best thing to do for your arms or how many days you should rest your body. :)
I have been home for about a half an hour but I can still feel the effects from the workout. Man...it feels good and tiring at the same time.
If you have been thinking about exercising...all you have to do is start somewhere. Chair exercises, walking, swimming, riding a bike. I have a friend who has just been warming up by stretching. It's a start. Listen to your body. Not your mind. I read a blog today before I left for the gym and it said "Your mind is willing to give out a lot sooner than your body will." (SO WHOEVER WROTE THAT...
) That really helped me today and I hope if you have been wanting to exercise, you will start today or at the very latest, tomorrow.
