Didn't I say best laid plans?

Saturday, May 04, 2013

Well I just came home.
Never made it to Lehigh Valley Mall. Our car died while we were on the turnpike and we were blessed that we were able to pull over to the shoulder (thanks to my quick thinking) AAA does not service on the Turnpike- they sent someone local.
Steve was awesome and towed us back to Philly.

I have to tell you that I was scared because the area is desolate. My phone crashed ( I have to assume from my energy) and I couldn't take a pic of the area. Sis and I also were in a quandary because we had to pee... em sis is a bigger risk taker - she jumped over the guard rail LOL I did it between the doors :P I am more shy. Because of that we didn't drink any or our juices until we got home.

Car being towed - got to be on the big truck

Jumping the car to close a window. They think its the alternator :(

*sigh* I am tired because it was a long day, and I was scared a big mac truck would hit us. Pushing liquids and relaxing.
While we were waiting to be towed the people from Macy's called us to see if we were ok. The person who coordinated the event gave everyone different hours. They were expecting us an hour earlier and were concerned for us because we were so prompt last time around. They are hoping we can reschedule the day, but we are on for next Sat. Hopefully the car will be ready.

Now for the importance of being prepared - if we had to stay somewhere overnight I had enough juice and water to hold both of us till tomorrow midday! Thankful that we didn't have to but good to know that if needed I would still be on plan :D

Going to chill and watch some tv.

MorningGlory, the ride back cost us $250 and we know if its the alternator it will be at least $300 *sigh* but again we are just happy we got home safely. We had that convo with sis last night saying that we would have gone to a diner and fed our fear and tiredness and topped it off with a dessert or 2 :D
And thank you for the Happy Easter wishes! :D

Well what a day! Glad you're both safe - that's the most important thing. Hope the car is relatively little in the way of cost ... take care and congrats on your tenacity - my guess is that a few months ago you might have munched your way through "chilling" last night - but instead you pushed liquids! Rest well, Ven. and Happy Easter!

So sorry about your car! Hope all goes well. What a wonderful thing though to be so prepared, and not to let the day get the best of you!!

I hope everything works out with the car. It's great that being prepared helped you to stick fast to the juice fast !!! Probably all the stress will help you release some more weight. emoticon

Sounds stressful but you handled it well. It was good that you were prepared just in case. :)

Oh, I think most people are afraid of those trucks. I don't know if everyone will admit it though. :P

Enjoy relaxing and watching some TV.
