Predictability is good when:
* I know my workouts will be safe, and I won't be tripping over shadows or rolling my ankle (ouch)
* I know about what's going on inside my body, and I don't have any surprise gastrointestinal "events"
* I know when my body is tired, and when I'll wake up
* I know when I'm hungry, and when I'm satisfied
Such basic things! But these are all huge indicators of health for me, and maybe for you, too. Rolling my ankle last week (twice) was really alarming. When I'm fit, and my core strength is decent, balance isn't a problem. I'm light on my feet (well, relatively), and carefree, no matter where I'm walking or what shoes I'm wearing. I am convinced that my nasty falls last week were related to my weak core and my major extra poundage. Maybe they're not related, but it makes sense to me that they would be!
As for all the other stuff--yep, that's when I know I'm doing good things for my body. This past week, exercise was out until today because of my ankle and cut-up knee, so I really watched what I ate carefully. I also only had 2 drinks the whole week, and what do you know? I lost a pound, slept well, and just felt better all around. Nothing major, but just tiny adjustments my body makes when it feels good, that make me feel better all over.
Other than that, it was a crazy, albeit short week. A conference, some random deadlines appearing, and some work drama (nothing awful, just general...stuff), and it got a bit hectic. I hope I can get back to a place where I can check in regularly here, but not really being able to get here while I'm at work makes it kind of challenging. But even just logging in every couple of days is helping my accountability, which is more than I can say from a month or so ago!
