Shoes, Bras & Bathing Suits - What a way to spend a Saturday morning

Saturday, May 04, 2013

Since the kids had a PD day yesterday and I was working 1-9, my Mom had the kids over for a sleepover. How nice was that. DH got to go golfing this morning and I got to do some much needed shopping.

I really didn't want to go shopping, as it was gorgeous out, but it was necessary. Since getting orthodics and dealing with plantar fasciitis, I have had a hard time finding shoes. Ok, what I would qualify as nice, not old lady (no offense) shoes. I finally had success at Walking on a Cloud and ended up leaving with 2 pairs of shoes. I would still love a dressier pair, but will wait until I find something I like, or until my feet aren't bothering me as much.

After I conquered that feet, I decided it was on to bras. I am way overdue and was looking a rather saggy, so I hit a few stores and ended up by two new bras (that actually fit well) at Victoria Secret.

Continuing on my success, I decided to try bathing suits. Since my feet have been bothering me, I haven't been to bootcamp, so swimming would be a great alternative. Since I only have 'lounge/backyard" type bathing suits, it is type for an actual suit that will stay place while swimming lengths. Well, no luck with the Speedo bathing suits. Great prices, nice suits, but no fit. I think I will need to go to a two piece, so I can get a larger bottom size and smaller top. But not today. After 3 hours of shopping, I figured it was time to pick up the kids and enjoy the sunshine.

Now DH has taken the kids out for a bit and I am enjoying the solitude of my backyard while writing this blog. Now, to start thinking about what vegetables and herbs I should plant in my raised bed (4'x8') and pots.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with plantar fasciitis. I know how painful that can be. I had that for about 3 months, and went to an orthopod who specialized in foot and ankle. He prescribed a brace which I wore to bed every night for about 6 weeks. It cleared up, and now If I feel that twinge returning, I just plop that brace on for a few nights, and haven't had a problem since. I hope your shoes work well for you. I like Ecco shoes real well. They are comfortable and well made.

I had plantar fasciitis and got $20 shoe inserts from the Walmart pharmacy. It cleared up in about 3 weeks. However if I am wearing flip flops and do much walking it flares up. I hope you are pain free now.

sounds like a nice day - and congrats on finding 2 out of 3. for the last I like Land's End's tugless tanks.. they aren't too expensive, and seem to be forgiving in fit.. and work well for swimming laps.. emoticon
