A Misty Rain

Saturday, May 04, 2013

When I was out last the rain was very light and gentle. From the looks of the forecast we are supposed to see the sun for four days beginning tomorrow before rain moves back in.
Yesterday Jeff and I got the top put on the box and stained it. Today I have put on the first coat of polyurethane. Later towards evening I will put on the second coat. Give it a day or two to get really dry then it will be moved to its permanent location.
I am going to take 6 of the chicks to Michael here in a little bit. Will also take a dozen and a half eggs.I may make sure that I have all the banty eggs for the kids. These six are big enough to go.
Monday I am going into the meat processing business. Three of my meat birds are ready to get dressed out and into the freezer. Have to do it while Jeff is at chemo because it really bothers him to know that I am "'murdering" chickens. I never thought about it before as it something I was raised around but it really bothers him.
My next project will be a cabinet to put on the patio. That way I will have weed killer and things like that taken care of and out of sight. I would like to put patio doors in where a couple of windows are that open to the patio. I may have to wait until I get some help for that. I have never put in a window before and don't want to start learning with one on the house. I figure I can learn how when I build the storage building this summer.
That is it for now folks. God bless and keep you in the palm of His right hand.

I can sympathize with your problem with Jeff. I too grew up with the killing of food animals as a fact of life. I don't like to watch or do it, but I know it is necessary. It is good that you understand his dislike of it and do it when he is gone to his chemo.
I pray btw that the chemo is working for him.
I hope your little bunnies are doing well, especially the two you helped. No I know he doesn't like it. I doubt you particularly like having it to do either, as it seems from your other blogs that you love animals and nature. But I'll bet he's not vegan either. Meanwhile you are amazing with all the projects you get done along with all the work it takes to raise garden crops and the critters you eventually turn into your daily food. I would not even know where to start to put in patio doors myself. My hat is off to you for your God gifted energy and creativity!
