Fabric Find

Saturday, May 04, 2013

I really like fabric and yesterday on my way into work at the mall, I found two pieces of fabric rolled up beside the trash. They were not IN the bin, just leaning beside.

What did that mean? Too nice to ruin, but in someone else's way?

That was my interpretation so I unrolled one remnant, loved it right away, and left the second for another passer-by.

The background is shiny gold, like a matte silk, and the design is machine embroidered with 3D features that are fuzzy. I will have to post a photo.

I would not design a vest because I wouldn't wear the colours, but I think the fibre is strong enough to become a fancy bag or throw pillow.

I'm going to look at this Fabric Find for a few more days before I do anything else with it. (And to think that it had to be thrown away by someone!) I'll give it a good home!
