Help please! Bad Atrial fibrillation (AF) situation...

Saturday, May 04, 2013

I have been suffering from AF since my thirties. I do not get it often and when I do my medication prescribed by the cardiologist in Germany works within a day. Unfortunately, I sometimes get it for a week or more.

Today I am very tired, short breath with a headache. Got bad AF took medication for a week but its not working. I have also injected myself with a blood thinner to prevent blood clotting which could lead to a heart attack or even a stroke.

I do not want to go to the doctor or hospital as my private medical insurance do not cover pre-existing conditions. Being in Turkey, a third world country means I will have to go to a private hospital. They would want to do all the most expensive tests and or treatments so they can fill their coffers - I am foreign - so I have to be rich then. Madness, I know but that is unfortunately the way most people think here.

Usually I go for a walk to elevate my heart rate and it goes back to normal. that is not working. I have used Tamboccor (100g) tablet twice a day for a week and is now on 1/4 of a tablet twice a day to spawn me off it.

I need help from other SP members suffering from AF. Do you use any natural medications or pressure to pressure points that works? If so, please email me or leave a message.

I will appreciate it.

So sorry to hear that Jaques! Heart conditions scare me. My husband has CAD and is on blood thinner Plavix, low dose aspirin everyday to keep from clotting or plaque build up. Plus Lisinopril which is good for blood pressure and people with Diabetes. Please, take care of yourself. Maybe there is a free clinic around or talk to your prior Dr. You may need a new type of medicine. Tell them of your insurance problems, etc. Not only that (although don't know how it works in Europe) but as long as you pay something each month on your balance after what the insurance pays they cannot send you to collections, even if you pay a small payment. Your health is more not wait too long to get your heart checked. We care what happens to you! Keep us posted. emoticon

My husband has AF and uses a full asprin each day plus a prescription drug. Have you tried calling your doctor in Germany? I don't know of any other things to do, but you are worth more than the cost of a doctor visit. If it does not correct soon, get yourself to a doctor.
