Spinning the Sparkpeople wheel

Even if I do nothing else to advance my goals today, the LEAST I can do is log in and spin the Sparkpeople wheel. Spinning the wheel mentally connects me with what I'm trying to do. I'm on this website to continue learning how to eat better and move more. When I'm unmotivated, I avoid logging in. That's the wrong approach. Those are the days I need to log in and spin the wheel. Even if I do nothing else all day, spinning the wheel keeps the program on my mind. Eventually, my thoughts will propel me into action. SP founder Chris talks about exercising 10 minutes for the same reason. Anything we do to push ourselves in the right direction is a start.

So if you have no motivation to do anything else today, log in and spin the wheel. Then go somewhere and move your body for 10 minutes. Just for now, that's enough.

    I do so agree. That's all I intended to do today--instead, I am reading blogs--getting encouragement and motivation from my SP Friends--planning my meals and exercise, and generally staying engaged. emoticon

    Exercising for 10 minutes is like running slowly. Even if it looks and feels insignificant, it's better than sitting on the couch for the same amount of time. I get a little kick from wearing a pedometer, because defending that 10K step streak beats sitting on my butt all day when things go wrong.

    I agree for me it is a lot of little moments and decisions that get me to my goal. This is good reminder to celebrate those little moments.

    This is very true. I log in every day and I hate putting zeros down for my trackers. It helps me get motivated for the next time.
