With the exception of a couple of indoor shows this summer that I am waiting to hear if we have been juried into, it is time to work on other aspects of the business. I have been taking metal clay classes; yesterday I took another one and learned about using patinas and different sealers and finishers.
Since Mother's Day is around the corner and I wanted to make something for my daughter, I came up with a copper "hand" with my grandson's thumb print in the middle. We made 5 of the hands plus some textured pendants and earrings and was able to get the whole load to fire properly in the kiln. I took a picture of the textured necklace and earrings and will post the "hand" picture as soon as I incorporate it into a necklace.
Earlier in the week I purchased a new website and will be working to get new product photographed and entered. I was using Artfire, but in the last 6 months sales fell off and no matter how cheap it is, its worth nothing without results.
