Sometimes you miss the ball....

Saturday, May 04, 2013

Did you ever play baseball or softball? When you were learning to play did you catch the ball every time? Did you always throw the ball straight to the person you were trowing it to? Did you always hit the ball when you were batting? I didn't think so. It takes time and lots of practice to get good and even then you will not catch, throw or hit the ball every time. So what makes you think you can start a new eating and exercise program and get it perfect all the time? You can't. Think of it as learning a new game. You practice, practice and more practice but even then you will make mistakes. Sometimes you miss the ball. But, keep on playing. You WILL get better.

So true. Keep on trying, even if you only get HALF GOOD at it, you'll be HALF YOUR current size and with HALF the health issues. So keep on keeping on.

That or learn to omit that which you fail miserably at..I'll bat, I'll throw, but I still can't catch...and not much worried about it LOL But still enjoy it....

    Good illustration!

Even the best of the best of big league baseball players don't get it 100% perfect, so why should we expect that we should get this more difficult journey 100% perfect 100% of the time?

I long ago realized that 100% perfect in anything in life is not obtainable. So I chose to stop beating myself up, because I was unable to do & to be 100% perfect even when I gave something 100%.

    God bless!

Yes, you said it great! I am a league playing tennis player, I started 6 yrs ago, I hired a coach and made the commitment to be better everyday. Today I play #2 for our city team. I play almost everyday and still miss that darn ball sometimes, or hit a crazy wild ball everyday. Love the way you put it! I am gonna print this and hang it by my computer! emoticon
