Member Exercise Tip from FITJEDI that I don't want my friends to miss!

I was just leaving a comment on a "Member Exercise Tip' from one of the Spark emails I get (LOVE them!) and decided to put it in a blog for all my SparkFriends to see (in addition to her tip) because I think it is important!
Frequent Movement Breaks
If you have desk job and end up sitting most of the day, set a timer to remind you to get up and move around every hour.
I set a timer for 50 minutes and work steadily at my desk. Then I either stand up and stretch for 10 or go take a mini-walk and get my water (and often hit the restroom). This keeps my energy up so I am productive. And I get in my steps for the day. - Submitted by FITJEDI 7/22/2010
This has more than one benefit. YEARS ago (about 30 to be exact!) I was having lower back problems; going to a chiropractor for help. He suggested that I use one of the running watches that has a 'beep on the hour' feature and keep it on my desk at work. When it beeped, take a few minutes to stretch, bending and stretching to 'unlock' my spine. He also encouraged me to keep walking. He said walking strengthens the long muscles that run up and down the spine, holding it in alignment. It worked WONDERS!! And put him out of a job! On me at least!!

Remember to think positive - your life is created not by what happens to you, but how you react/respond to what happens to you.
