I finished the first three weeks of the P90X2 program.
So far it is going well. I am not following the program by the letter but rather am I incorporating the workouts into my already existing running schedule to have some more diversity and some extra training.
Am I getting ripped? - lol - nope!
Am I loosing weight? - shoo - no!
Am I loosing inches? - sigh - no!
So what IS going on?
Am I gaining strength? - hell - yes!
Am I getting fitter? - somehow- yes!
Am I gaining balance/stability - wow - yes!
Is it worth doing it? - yep!
I am able to do about 85% of the movements now. Interestingly, the high intensity movements are not a problem for me (plyo - jumping and co). I am struggling with the balance movements, pullups/chin-ups, and the movement that combine strength, balance and explosion. Usually my muscles give in or I loose balance before I can break a real sweat.
The main thing I learned over the past few weeks about my body is the importance of varying my workout routines. It is "relatively" easy for me to just run - but to combine it with other confusing exercises is a whole other world.
I am happy I tried something new! You should too! Mix up your workouts!
