Made it through the season!

Friday, May 03, 2013

Well everyone I made it! This week was our final week and we had to cancel our last 2 games due to snow. We had a total of 16 games and actually got to play 7 games, very disappointing season when you look at it that way, but you can pick a fight with mother nature! It's been a long few weeks, and I'm glad it's over, I have to get back into a normal routine now. I'm home by 3:45 and I don't know what to do with myself :)
This last week has been the worst with the bad snow storms we were getting my DH got into an auto accident and our car has been totaled, he came out of it ok and unharmed but now because of this my 16 year old is having a fit because we can't afford another car, although we have one in storage that I think we can get back on the road with the little bit of payout we received for the car. We're keeping our fingers crossed! It isn't coming in threes right now it feels like we are in a tsunami and unable to get air. I know it will get better but slowly, it's time for some positive to come into play.

Over all I love my girls and we'll have an end of year party for them, I am proud of them and they've come a long way since day one! I still haven't told them that this is my last year coaching so it will be a little hard but I will let them know that I'll still be there at the school because of my daughter and if she decides to keep playing I'll be there still cheering them on but as a mom and not a coach!

Now just waiting for the end of the school year, I have one that gets out at the end of May and one that gets out at the beginning of June!

I hope that everyone has an absolutely wonderful weekend and all is well!

Kelly

You certainly have had more than your share of winter lately! So sorry about your car, but relieved to read that your DH is OK. If you need a car, start putting the thought out there. My son had an unexpected encounter with a deer when he was younger. Totaled our car, as it was an 8 point buck. Miraculously, he wasn't hurt. He wanted a car, and it was a definite strain on our family without it. I told him I if we could find a car with whatever the insurance company would reimburse for the damaged one, we would get another. I stuck with that thought, and low and behold we found one! It was not in the best of cosmetic shape, but we had that car for almost 10 years after that! So don't give up . . .

    Hi Kelly,

What a frightful thing that your husband was in an auto accident and totaled the car. Thank goodness he wasn't injured! I can't believe that you are still getting snow. It is usually us here in New York getting snow later in the season.

I'm sure the girls will miss you as coach. Sounds like you really bonded with them. At least you will have a little time for yourself - or at least for your family now. Have a blessed Sunday!!!

Please forgive me Kelly - I think I was just being a smart mouth - you know 'Get a Job' expression. I know you are on top of this for your family - all will be just fine...

My DD in Colorado Springs told me about the snow they had. She sure isn't use to that being from Florida! Glad you made it through your soccer season and know the girls will be sad you won't be their coach. It should help having you there as a cheerleader!!!

Looking forward to seeing you more on the threads now that you are "free"!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend too!

These late snow storms are unbelievable. Here we have been getting rain (knock on wood). Trying to get some gardening done in between the rain/cold spell. Glad DH is alright, but too "d" bad about the car. I remember a couple of years ago going through the same thing.....although we are an empty nest that doesn't change with the expense of a different car. Sigh! YOU rock with getting through this season, even though it was shortened because of weather. I'm sure your girls will understand about the not coaching any more. Here's hoping the weekend is the greatest and your sparking continues moving forward. emoticon

Glad to hear your husband isn't injured - Enjoy your party and for the other one who is having a 'fit' about the car situation - tell em to get a job to help you and Dad with the car situation! LOL Happy day to you...

I am glad your husband is ok and hope you are able to get another car soon.

The party for the girls should be fun - I know you are very proud of them.
