Going to Gettysburg for the day

Friday, May 03, 2013

I'm eager to join some friends and make more of them as I journey with the East Penn Association of School Retirees. The folks are retired from Kutztown, Fleetwood, and Brandywine Heights School Districts. They are a lively bunch of people.

As we make our trip to the battlefield a friend of mine, Bob Fleck, will portray a soldier. We will have a great time.

I will enjoy my time away.

    I love Gettysburg.

So beautiful and sad at the same time.

My Father grew up, nearby, on a farm.
He and his family in the 20's and 30's would visit, every 4th of July and have a picnic and remember the fallen.

I have a relative that was in the Civil war, although not sure on Gettysburg status.
Wish more info had been passed down.

Hope you had a nice visit.

Sounds great! We took our grandkids there in '07 and they enjoyed it-history buffs both of them even at 4 & 7.
