Here is a quick recap of my visit to Houston in April... (yeah, I am late!). DH and I were there for a short visit, for me it was just some down time as Jeff was attending a conference. I needed the break!
We arrived downtown on Wednesday afternoon. We had a few stops to make, such as convention registration and grabbing a quick bite to eat. On our way to the convention center, we walk by the Golden Grill Truck!
We could not help but being tempted to try one of their specialty grilled cheese sandwich! We shared a Carnitas (roasted pork, apple jam, Monterey jack, pickles on sourdough)!
Yummi!!! (and now you understand why I decided that I was not really going to try to track or stress about trying to stay "in range"!)... It is a break and I wanted to enjoy it!
When we were done with the admin portion of the day, we decided that we would go to Saint Arnold Brewery for their guided tour and of course the beer tasting!
Guess which one I tried?
I go for the dark ones! I like the sweet and rich taste of it. I like the lighter one too... especially when it is very hot outside and I want a refreshing drink (with a fuzzy feeling!).
That evening, we had dinner at Guadalajara (a Mexican restaurant... Sorry I did not take picture of my meal like I usually do... but my review of my meal - a burrito with rice, black beans and guacamole - is, you gotta try it! It was great and not too pricy!).
My calorie count for the day (as for the rest of this trip... more blogs to come)
was way over but I really enjoyed it... (except for the
felling when I was trying to go to
God bless me, I was just trying to do as Houstonian do and follow the Saint A philosophy - drink beer, it is safer than water!
