I'm a gardener!!

It's true!
Look!

These are part of MY garden!!! and actually the beds with the pumpkins and zucchini are even more gorgeous now. Maybe someday it will be pretty enough to Pinterest!!! ska-weeeeeee!

Soooooo,
I can officially say I've been juicing a week...which is about where I stopped last time and although I've slipped here and there I'm not throwing in the towel at every boo boo I make. Instead I am just going to keep going.

My sis in law brought over homemade lasagna and chicken enchiladas to help out since hubs had his surgery. I hope she realizes what a Godsend that was! I've just been going from one end to another here. LOL As a matter of fact, awaiting a text from the youngest on picking her up.

anyhow, yeah, I did the stare down with it. emoticon Thnking how pretty it was and how good it looked and I decided...nope. I'm going to take a piece, put it in the freezer and try her homemade goodness on July 5th. booyah!! problem solved.

I am pretty hungry today....so I will be making this beautiful yumminess of a concoction that I didn't think I'd like and its my favorite:
1 large fuji apple
handful of strawberries (garden)
two clementines
3-4 carrots
1 med sweet potato

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!

Starting the ABS/Squats challenge my friend Kim posted. Totally loving it. I love it because it's simple and works for the 10 minutes a day so I can't use "I don't have time" or "I can't use the DVD player" or "it's too hot to run" excuses.

That's really about it. Um....in the last few weeks of school for this semester. Hubs is like "you are always on that computer" and he's lucky I didn't buy the frying pan that I wanna wack him with.

OH!! inspiration point!!!!

My middle one: Kate comes up to me today and says "Are we getting in our run today?" and I say "well, of course!!" to which she replies "good, I've been really looking forward to running and I love our runs together"

um, this is me............................
.........BEAMING!!!!!

I love your garden set-up! I see you have the "vegtrug" style standing raised bed. How do you like it?

I love the way your garden grows! I hope you had a fabulous run, and DH should indeed count his blessings that there wasn't a skillet handy!

    Hippo,
I am from the Tangerine team and I really enjoyed seeing your garden. It looks really great and clean and healthy. I love love raised gardens like yours. However where do you live that you are not only having all your plants grown but producing already? I am from Denver Colorado and we keep getting snow still so no planting yet.

I planted tons of tomatoes last year as well as pumpkins, canteloupe, cumcumber (my favorite). I want to plant more varieties this year but I will need to find space. Last year I set up big tubs in my back yard so I could get to the area which had the most sun. Where my main garden is only gets good sun half day and that is not enough. I had great pumpkin plants last year and then they had mold fungus take over and that was it for them. I had to quickly stop that from spreading to all my other plantings. It rained alot last summer in the night time so lots of humidity which caused the mold.

I am sure hoping I don't run into that this year. What is your favorite to plant? Last year I had 16 tomato plants so I could blanch the tomatoes that we were not eating and freeze them. I used them all winter to cook with to avoid the salt in canned tomatoes. I would like to do that with other produce this year. As soon as I get back to Colorado I will begin to plant. Welcome to the Summer BLC team and we will love having you. Susan

Your garden is nice. I was out today weeding my strawberry patch and envy your system with the growing boxes.

You are doing great with the juicing. After the first week it gets easier.

I envy that you are able to run with your daughter. My daughter is a track and cross country star and there is no way I can keep up with her. She runs circles around me. Now my son, that is a different matter. I out run him even when I am walking. I need to get him above a snails pace.

I am really jealous! I wish my neighborhood would allow a garden. A garden looks better than the weeds I see in all my neighbors yards. I am sure I could camoflage one but yours is amazing! You should be very, very proud of your hard work! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

That's so beautiful! I'm trying to figure out where you live to have such bounty so early. Obviously somewhere warmer than it is here in VA.

Gorgeous! I am going to come and steal your strawberries though; I've never had a lot of success with growing my own. Of course I never really tried very hard either. Lol

OMG your garden looks beautiful. Living in a East facing condo with a terrace that won't allow anything to grow so I am full of envy. Nice on Sis In law for bringing in things for hubby.
You are blessed to have a close relationship with your daughter - I do with my mom and I love it when she beams with happiness from it :D
Keep up the juicing and you didn't make a booboo you drank pressed grapes!

Can't wait to get my garden going. I will be juicing some stuff up to. I love my garden. I be just thanking God for allowing me to be able to plant it and to be able to pick what's in it. It's just a blessing when you can walk out your door and get all the fresh food you want. Enjoy. I am jealous my garden is not ready yet.
