First Friday in May. This is Derby weekend for Kentucky. I don't go in for all the festivities but I do like the race and if I remember I watch. A good people watching time.
Yesterday we got the recumbent exercise bike and set it up. Yesterday I managed two five minute sessions. Today I've done three sessions 7, 10 and 13 minutes each. I have to say this I never thought I'd feel the results in my abs. I feel like I've been doing sit-ups which I don't do because of my inability to get back up off the floor. Besides really hurts my neck (pinched nerve).
This morning I felt it in my hips and thighs and now my abs. Amazing. Never would have believed it. Maybe it's just because I'm so out of shape. Anyone else noticed this?
Thoughts on my monthly goals. Well, I'm going to continue to walk my dog because she expects it and we both love it. Then, there's the exercise bike and I'm wanting to build up to 30 minutes at a time. Right now 13 minutes is my max before I start hurting so I'll take whatever I can get at this point. I want to add my Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone videos back in. That'll shake things up some. I think I'll just do the 15 minute one mile walk until I get accustomed to things again. Then there's the ST which I have not been doing. I need to work that back in but I hate doing it. I seriously hate ST.
I have 35 days until I'm gone on vacation. I want to feel so much better and lose weight. Hoping this amped up fitness will kick start a loss cycle again. While I'm on vacation I'll try out my brother's new recumbent elliptical - that should be interesting. Of course there will be lots of walking, hopefully some hiking involved in vacation. So that will continue to be good.
I revised my nutritional goals and fitness goals last week so that started me on a downward trend. Hoping to keep it up. Another thing I'm changing is my official weigh in day - it's Friday currently but since my appointment calendar where I log my info in starts on Monday, I'm changing it to Mondays. That should prove interesting.
When I'm at my brother's we're planning on trying new recipes and get him into healthier eating habits. He's seriously in a food rut major time. Ugh! We have the same three meals all the bloody time. He's very stubborn about changing them too. However, Bobby Deen's show is changing his mind - thank you Bobby! He's wanting to try new things. I told him I was holding him to it too. My brother called to say he might stop by tomorrow on his way to St. Louis. He's picking up a friend and taking her home with him until next month when he goes back to St. Louis and swings back by here to pick me up.
We've got a cold front moving through and it's been raining since late yesterday, heavy at times. Boy the temperatures have dropped today too. So I've just been doing laundry, riding my bike and watching/listening to TED Talks Head Games on Netflix - some interesting thoughts on the mind and our actions. Also catching up on Spark and Facebook too.
