I can't believe it

Friday, May 03, 2013

I went to the Dr yesterday for a check up and was shocked by what I saw on the scale. I can't believe I lost 11 lbs in two weeks. Especially since I traveled all last week, had that huge steak and didn't cook one meal for myself.

I'm very happy and at this point am down 19 lbs total. I thought my clothes would be fitting differently but that's not the case. It's very surreal.

Anyway, I'm glad I'm doing what the dietitan suggested because she said I would maintain and then drop, maintain and then drop. Seems to be working out that way. To top it off on Wednesday I didn't have anything planned for dinner and was so frustrated over what the dietitian said I felt like I should get in 'one more bad meal.' I was thinking of all the things I want but I ended up eating mac and cheese (with whole grain noodles) and a sandwich from Safeway. It was odd that I didn't binge or eat something like fast food. I couldn't even eat all the mac and cheese I made which was my original intention. Something good is going on here....

So, my plan for next week since I'll be in New Orleans is to: focus on the food groups and eat as many 'whole' foods as possible, eat a lot of sea food, stay as close to may calorie range as possible, not go overboard with drinking and to have fun and enjoy my time there! I have a feeling it's going to be so hot I'll just melt away anyway. I also purchased a cookbook and dining guide which focuses on 400 calorie meals. I'm supposed to be getting 500 calorie meals but this was as close as I could find and there are some good suggestions. I'll just have to increase some of the recipe or add a piece of fruit.

So....holy cats! It's friday and I'm going to make it a good weekend while I pack and clean!

What an up beat post! I have been wondering how you were doing. I'm always glad to hear you are doing well!

Maybe Jay should go to the dietitian. He did so well on Inch-by-Inch but is right back where he started. I wouldn't have known but we had to go get him new clothes. Yikes

Did you see Kimberly and I did Bloomsday? Do you think you could do Gov. Cup in 4 weeks? You've done it before.

Well, we should get together. Let me know if I can help you in any way;)

    Congratulations! That's great news!
It may be frustrating to not be loosing as fast as you'd like, but maintaining is in itself a good thing too, you're not gaining and also you're going to have an easier time when you get to your goal weight.
Way to go Erin!

This made me smile, a lot, I'm so happy to hear your news! Your time in LA will be awesome, seafood is pretty low-cal and packed with protein. I hope you're able to mix it with fresh fruits and veggies that aren't in season and hard to get here right now.
Most importantly- travel safe and have a great time!
See you on the flip side :)
