(Psalm 51:2-3 NKJV) Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. {3} For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me.

David had a way of laying himself out before God and asking for forgiveness for the mistakes and bad choices he made.

Although I don't wish to follow in David's footsteps when it comes to the sins he committed, I do want to follow in his footsteps when it comes to the sincerity of his heart when he was faced with his own sin.

David made some terrible choices in his life, causing some truly devastating consequences for himself and his family. But when God brought him face to face with his sin, David was always repentant and did his best to make things right.

And for this, God called David a man after His own heart.

In my life, I have two desires. One is for God to see me as a woman after His own heart. The other is for God to look at me when I stand before Him, and say "well done my good and faithful servant".

How do you handle your sin? What are your desires?

Lay your heart out before God and let Him show you.
