Whole30, Day 16

Friday, May 03, 2013

Well, I went off plan yesterday. It was a very long day & after my dr's appt. all I wanted was to come home & have a hug & some ice cream. No opportunity for a hug, but I did manage to have some ice cream after dinner. It was the best tasting thing ever at that moment in time (I have a thing for McConnell's ice's local, they use amazing ingredients...and, above all, it's delicious) & I have no regrets, although I woke up this morning congested, with a sore throat and itching all over. Woo, allergies! I guess that answers that question. No anaphylaxis or asthma attack though, so that's a good thing. I will definitely be experimenting with raw milk & goat's milk & sheep's milk at the end of this to see if I have reactions to everything or if I can reincorporate something.

I didn't make it to the talk, I went to bed at 8pm (I'd been up since 3am!). Sometimes you just need to take a break and take care of yourself instead of going to your planned activities.

Exciting things today:
My co-worker sent me instant messages at work yesterday about a one day sale at Whole Foods on chicken from a farm that humanely slaughters them (PETA supported) as well as humanely raises them. He knows that's the big reason why I don't eat poultry anymore, so I will be headed to Whole Foods today to stock up (yay for freezer space!).
Here are links:

Food today:
Breakfast: 3 egg & spinach omelette, coconut water
Lunch: steamed veggies & curry sauce
Dinner: leftover steamed veggies & curry sauce? or some sort of chicken dish? I don't know. If I pick up chicken today then there will likely be some dishes cooked this weekend (tikka masala is coming to mind...)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Hugs & Sparkles!!

Wow! Who knew something that use to seem like such wonderful creamy goodness, could cause such a reaction. Definitely not worth the price. Good thing they make coconut milk ice cream for the next time you want a cold only slightly less yummy treat. emoticon

I hope your Dr. appt went well, that you feel restored after sleeping a little more than planned.
Awesome to find the chicken deal - good on all counts!

Milk makes me feel congested, I didn't know how bad it was until I cut out milk products, so that's milk and grains that make me sick. Who would think food could effect you in such a negative way, I never did. Live and learn I guess and your never to old to start. Have a good weekend emoticon on emoticon
