WE CAN FALL DOWN
We have all had some type of success or happiness in life. It may have been our wedding day, the day our children were born, a new job or a project or an event that worked well for us. If we think back to when we felt our strongest and everything seemed to be going our way, we will realize that may have been only temporary. That seems a bit sad but it is true. Many of us when we seem to be on top of the world about something forget how we got there and what we need to do to stay there. We may get arrogant, prideful and careless. We may drift from God and begin worshiping the things of the world which will definitely lead to our downfall.
Psalm 36:106 “They worshiped their idols, which led to their downfall.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, first thank You for our successes. Thank you for the days where we were on top of the world and we felt nothing could go wrong. Help us, Lord, to remember we can’t stay on top of the world without You in our lives. Help us to remember to worship You alone and not get too involved in our successes that we forget about You and what You want us to do. Thank You for our blessings and help us to use them to honor You and to help others giving You all the glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When we are successful and on top of the world, we must continue to worship God and keep in first in our lives.
God wants us to be successful and He can help us keep from falling down when we decide to continue to worship Him.
Knowing that God wants what is best for us should motivate us to continue to worship Him in the good times and the bad.
We are able to enjoy so much in life but when we begin to worship the things of the world that we enjoy, then we will find that our world may begin crashing around us.
We shouldn’t allow the things of the world to bring us down. The only downfall we should experience in life is when we fall down to worship at the feet of Jesus.
“We fall down, and lay our crowns at the feet of Jesus. The greatness of Your Mercy and love at the feet of Jesus. And we cry holy, holy, holy. And we cry holy, holy, holy. And we cry holy, holy, holy is the lamb.” ~Chris Tomlin
