i came back to SparkPeople last saturday after being away for almost two years--should have never left. but oh well, what's done is done. but i'm happy to write that so far i feel great about how my first week is going. i have been tracking my food intake and physical activity on a daily basis and that always makes me feel great because it shows that i'm taking care of myself.
i also joined the 10-minute daily exercise streak challenge because i want to get into the habit of exercising every day, and i think this challenge will help me accomplish just that. i'm use to hiking/walking every other day and although sometimes i manage to walk every day, i end up paying for it with a lot of knee pain. however, i figured that on the days i don't hike/walk, i can do 10 minutes of strength training at home using free weights--i'll be concentrating on the upper body since my hikes/walks keep my lower body in good shape. yesterday i ended up doing strength training for 20 minutes, plus i spent 5 minutes stretching a bit. i actually did the strength training while i was watching tv and that worked out great--so far so good.
