New PR...

Yep, I took that epic walk today (26.4 miles in 6:10), plus walked the dog twice and it all added up to 32.6 miles... or 65,480 steps!! Now, I have tracked more mileage than that in a single day, but never before have I tracked that many walking miles or steps!! It was a beautiful day for it. It was sunny and in the mid 70s today, perfect weather for a tshirt and jeans. And best of all? No blisters this time!! I utilized that magic item moleskin, and I wore two pairs of socks. (The first pair was a pair of thin, snug socks, topped with regular sports socks.) And it worked. I think that if I continue to do these marathon+ distances regularly that I will invest in compression socks though, because wearing two pairs of socks makes my feet a bit hot. I ended my marathon walk this evening at my parents' house, as I had to pick up the dog, and my mom fed me. We had pesto pasta, sweet corn and soybeans, with fresh pineapple and cantaloupe for dessert. The corn and beans are from their garden last summer as was the basil in the pesto. It was so yummy and just what I needed after burning all those calories.

My feet don't seem to hurt, but I will probably take it easy tomorrow anyway. It would be a good time to use the rower, as that doesn't require impact on my feet.

I received a big box of new books in the mail today. I am so excited! I love reading and when I receive books I have ordered I am like a kid in a candy store. I can hardly wait to sit down and lose myself in a well written story. So, that is on the agenda at some point tomorrow. Other than that my day will consist of walking the dog, cleaning, and visiting with a friend. Nothing earth shattering, but a nice calm, low key day will be nice. Yay, new books!!

Glad your plans worked well for your feet. Now you can do those marathon walks and not have the foot problems.

I absolutely love reading. I have a kindle, and go on spending sprees and download several books at a time. "My time" is relaxing in my recliner with a cup of tea and reading.

Great job!! I walk long distances as well since I can't run them. I've walked half marathons when everyone else runs. Going to do the same with a full soon. I like to run but can't seem to do well with over 10K distances. Easier and actually faster for me to walk! The most I've done in a day with actual walking (and not my everyday steps) was 20 so I know I could do the 26.
