wedding plans...

....are messing up my plans.
not my wedding, my brothers wedding. of which was decided on two weeks ago. very spur of the moment. they found out they are having a baby and figured oops, better get that off the list before the baby comes lol. trying not to make fun here but the whole situation, coming from my brother, is just soooo funny.

anyway, i was supposed to run today, but im sooooooooooooooooooo sore you guys, ran tues, cross trained yesterday, and i seriously can barely walk today. jon has been helping me around the house and in and out of his car etc etc. so, today turned out to be a rest day even tho i wanted it to be a running day. so, tomorrow was gonna be a running day. not anymore. i will have to workout somehow tho, i dont wana loose the groove im in.

poor jon, hes taking an anatomy practical exam right now (makes face) hate hate hate those. anyway, they invited him to the wedding too. well, aside from being slammed with work since he is a procrastinator, he has also worked about two weeks worth now without a break since his coworkers at the hospital are LAZY!!! i dont like them much if you cant tell. anyway, so hes tired from picking up extra shifts for days, super stressed from finals week, and now he has to come to this wedding instead of studying. i told him he doesnt have to come but he wants to anyway. i feel so bad -_-

anyway, more running gear in the mail today. two saucony shirts i got for a retarded cheap price on amazon and some good over the ear headphones. i just bought a pair, but apparently they seem to think all ear sizes are HUGE. lol.

anyway, i digress. went back to the hospital to get my id badge and tb test read, and now i start orientation in about two weeks. excited, but nervous.
after awhile the rules of residency become the ways of life.
#1-Always keep score.
#2-Do whatever you can to out smart the other guy.
#3-Dont make friends with the enemy.
#4-Everything, everything is a competition.
Whoever said winning isn't everything, never held a scalpel.

There's another way to survive this competition. A way no one seems to tell you about. One you have to learn for yourself.
#5-Its not about the race at all. There are no winners or losers. Victories are counted by the number of lives saved.
And once in awhile, if you're smart, the life you save could be your own.

I'm sure you can do it!
You seem focused and determined! A great hospital picked you, so you totally deserve to be there and help in saving lives.
