juice fast day 7

Thursday, May 02, 2013

7th day of restarting my juice fast.

My hubby is still sort of doing the fast with me. I mean he does still drink his coffee with sugar and cream, but mostly he juices. I'm afraid I made a supper last night that he loves, and so he ate, but he went right back to it today. It wasn't fair of me to make crab ragu. The stir fried veggies would have been OK, but the crab ragu is fried and has cream cheese in the middle. Not the healthiest. He has lost some weight. His clothes are getting looser.

We were at a track meet and went to Subway since it was so long. We got some sandwiches for the kids, but neither he nor I had anything, so I guess we are both staying strong. I am driving my family crazy. I can't help it if I have to check out the nutritional info on everything, can I? My son's bacon chicken melt had like 600 calories! That isn't counting the chips and drink. Almost 300 calories of that was fat calories.

I put a whole jalapeno in my veggie juice today and my hubby isn't liking it. I usually do this for my own juice, but forgot about him. Such a bad wife. I had to get some more produce and make some more juice for him.

Other than juicing, nothing much going on. Still trying to get my son to do his school... sigh. Signed my daughter up for classes next year. She still wants to be home schooled for the majority of her classes. Can't get them into driver's ed. That might be a good thing. The idea of them driving scares me, especially my son. Gas is killing us though. My daughter is involved with so much and I do a lot of driving her back and forth.

Exercise wise, I am mostly gardening. Today I moved some cinder block for a retaining wall I am putting up. I am stair stepping it up the bank and planting strawberries in the holes. I am hoping that I can get some manure next week. It has been way too wet to get it. Perhaps I can get down to the stables and get some horse manure or to talk my daughter into cleaning out the rabbit barn. There is more rain in the forecast, but that is better than the snow we got yesterday.

Sooo not a bad wife. Seems like you're doing a good job, right on. Gee, must be awesome to have your loved one join you, even in part, on your journey. Well done to your hubby for the loss too. Mums have the busiest job in the world, pat yourself on the back, you are doing a wonderful job.

My big daughters both drive and it scares the 'manure' out of me when they do lol. My oldest girl is alright but my other one seems to lack confidence so has a long way to go.

Keep up the fine fight. Kia kaha.

Yesterday just must have been a slip day as I too ate (nachos) but am right back on it. Like your hubby I still have the occasional coffee but plan on weaning off of that.

We can do this though :o)

Keep up the good work - sounds like you are doing pretty well despite a few bad choices. :) We are all human after all and not perfect!
Still snow? UGH! Sunshine here today, but more rain in the forecast. emoticon

That is wonderful that you are doing great and hubby is supportive.
Emm crab ragu might not be the best choice but it was with many veggies and as you see many people do a partial fast and lose weight.
Just remember that when you do a full juice fast you have better results :D

That is wonderful that both your children pick you over the school system. Says a lot...

You know.. if you think about the calories in things- when you are so young and active you burn them up. I would be more concerned with the other stuff - the wheat, gluten and over processed foods that cause the issues that you are suffering from. On the paleo plan I don't count calories, and in the beginning I ate a ton and still lost. Because it was all things that my body could break down :D

Keep up the great job! You are doing awesome
