Wendy, I am sorry, we are breaking up. You know the story, It is not you, it's me. Well, in this case, it really is you.

I was really hungry last night, so much so that I stopped for fast food, which long ago would have been a regular occurrence, but in the dawn of pink slime, not so much. So last night I stopped. I told myself I would only eat the "meat" and skip the buns. Nope, I inhaled everything, and I also did it while driving, so it was like I ate but have no recollection of it.

And then I felt sick.Blech. Bloated. Disgusting, headachy, and woke up at 3 this morning with a wicked leg/shin cramp. What the heck was that. I have not had severe muscle cramps in a while. Throw ina little msg, mix in some dehydration and who knows what pretending to be a food source and the next thing you know, it's I am not eating that again. So, Wendy it's over. It's not me. It's you. It's all you.

I hear ya! Once we have established healthy eating habits, our bodies get very confused/irritated when we go back to bad habits. Just further proof that our former habits were bad choices.

Sometimes it's hard to end a relationship, but it must be done if it is a toxic relationship. emoticon
Sorry that you felt bad after eating fast food, but it was useful in showing you that nothing good comes of eating that way!
Good for you for your wise decision!

I got breakfast from Chic Fil A this morning. There was a survey to do for a free chicken sandwich on your next visit, so I did the survey. One of the questions was "How many times have you gotten fast food in the last 30 days, including this visit?" I had to think really hard. My answer was 2. We got subs from Firehouse about 2-3 weeks ago. Not sure if that counts as fast food or not, but I counted it. It's amazing how much we've changed.

I try and keep a fiber one bar with me for that trip home at night. I eat it when I get in the car with a bottle of water. Then when I get home it's done it's job and I am not hungry.

Not saying I've given up the fast food yet, but I do know I feel LOTS better when I don't eat it.

Ahhhh the fast food blackout. I totally understand. I have water with me at all times but do fast food it on occasion. My choices are much better though. I think the only thing I like at Wendy's is the chili. Breaking up is hard to do...go ahead and sing it with me :)

I still eat fast food maybe once a week, and then it's usually Subway. Occasionally a McD's Happy Meal. Good for you for breaking up with Wendy's. That stuff is evil!

Giving up fast food was not easy for me but I did it a few years back.
So I tried some fries a couple of weeks ago and they did not taste at all like my memory of them. What I tasted was salty, stale grease.
It is funny how our taste buds change when given good food to eat.
Yours will too, just give it a little more time.
Can you carry nuts or a protein bar in the glove box to grab during those difficult moments?
I am glad you are making this choice for yourself.

With the exception of traveling, I do not 'choose' this option when I can help it. I agree, it's never a good option.

Good for you! I've broken my fast food habit entirely and I don't miss it at all.

I think you should break up Wendy and any other bad fast food place.
You want to eat something that hits the spot but not so much to where it makes your body cry out why? I would make small meals ahead of time and if your going to be out for awhile bring a on the go snack bag with water.
Train yourself to have water in your car. I know some people put the 24 pack case in the trunk for anytime.
I hope your feeling better.

Keep up the good work and don't let your setbacks get in the way.

a special gift for you~

I'm not sure you could convince me to give up Wendy's chili, but I hear you about fast food in general. Fast food chains are the last place we should be looking to for enriching meals. At least summer's coming, and you'll be able to find all kinds of great things to throw in your salads:)
