It's been a while since my last update! Since then I have lost three pounds and gotten my momentun back. I can't wait to see what the new month will bring! May is my favorite month of the year and I'm usually bursting with energy. Let's hope this year is no exception!
On another note, I'm doing the Tame Your Sweet Tooth challenge this month! I tried it a year ago, lasted a couple of weeks and gave up. That's not going to happen this time. I'm so sick of the constant cravings, the mood swings and the horrible sugar crashes!! I really want to show this sugar addiction who's the boss and put sugar back to it's place as an occassional treat enjoyed in moderation. Easier said than done? Yeah, probably. But I'm excited and determined to try.
This all started yesterday when I got really nauseous after eating A LOT of sugar. It was May 1st which is a national holiday here in Finland, and OF COURSE there were sugary and unhealthy treats everywhere you looked... So I over-indulged, and paid the price later. I've been eating really healthy lately so my body wasn't used to me consuming those kinds of amounts of sugar. I got so sick; my stomach was hurting and cramping, I was nauseous, my heart was racing and my hands were shaking... I had enough! I asked myself: why are you doing this to yourself? Why are you putting this toxic, addictive stuff in your body up to the point of nausea? And then I remembered this challenge and decided to give it another try.
Today was my first day without sugar and it couldn't have been better. Smooth sailing! But I'm sure the cravings will come sooner or later, and when it happens, I'll be prepared. I'm going to share my ups and downs with all of you here on my blog. So stay tuned for more updates in case you're interested to know if I'm going to be able to kick the sugar habit over the next four weeks or not! :)
