Elton John and Exercising in the Desert

Thursday, May 02, 2013

Last night we saw Elton John at Caesar's Palace. He gave a great performance! I got my exercise with a brisk walk around that huge casino. The air conditioning is so intense I like to wear a sweater.

At lunch today, I made one of my favorite salads. I was going to put it in a Nutrition Tracker Grouping but decided to put it into a single serving recipe. I was disappointed that I could not edit, because I did not have the title right. I name it Blue Cheese Poppy Seed Dressing but it should be Blue Cheese Poppy Seed Salad.

I expect my husband will fly home this weekend and I will stay on here for a few more weeks. I will miss him a lot. I know he will missing me and his morning walking buddy, Kali. My daughter is feeling better each day and even getting out a bit, but it could be some time before she can do any lifting, driving, etc.

I am really looking forward to the start of the 5% Challenge. I am keeping up my momentum in between the Challenges but I am raring to go!

Wow! How cool is that to see Elton John live!! Happy your DD is on the mend. I know how it is to be away from home, even when needful. Be encouraged and keep Kali slim & trim...I know she'll do the same for you.

I saw Elton at Madison Square Garden in 1983. He was (and still is) one of my very favorite performers. He absolutely had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand! I have seen pictures of him giving some pretty outlandish performances (for example, one concert at Dodger Stadium where he was wearing a Dodgers uniform made out of rhinestones). This was nothing like that. Just a super performer.

Looking forward to starting the challenge, too!!

Elton John! Wow! That must have been awesome! I LOVE Vegas! But I would hate to be there to take care of a sick daughter, so glad to hear she is doing better. It is hard to be away from the hubby - I did it for business a few years ago, and while I got home every other weekend, it was not fun. Glad I am out of that business, although I miss frequent flier points! We both used to travel enough that we never paid for airline tickets. Those days are LONG gone!

Glad that your daughter is getting better every day. emoticon Elton John!! I have never been to any of his concerts. He came to PEI sometime back but I missed him.
I hope that your hubby will keep walking on his own until you go home.

How fun seeing Elton John. I bet you knew all the songs! Great job working out in the casino. woohoo for you. Its tough to put i salad cals because i only did the fork instead of put on salad dressing (a WW trick) it works great, but makes the cal count abit tough. Enjoy your hubs being home when you can!
