Juicing today !!!

Thursday, May 02, 2013

Well, I am trying to be cheerful as I sit in the motel room. At least it is a cute one with a little kitchen where I have my precious juices stored. DH questioned me bringing the juices with us, but I noticed he has drank down a share of them.

This morning I slept in all worn out from this week's happenings. My body feels exhausted, tired, my legs are heavy like they are encased in concrete. I don't feel like moving and a good long nap feels in order. My head has been throbbing since yesterday and it has not eased up the slightest.

I think I slept well as I had a double bed all to myself. Originally we were put in a room where I had a bad experience from the bed. I talked to the manager who said the only other room left was one with two full size beds. I was out and slept like a log, not bothered by tossing and turning of my husband. It felt rather peaceful.

I am on my second quart of juice today. My stomach feels rather comfortable. My only slip was half a muffin this morning that the motel had out for it's guests. I don't even know why I was drawn to it as it felt rather yucky in my stomach. Ugg. I don't know my starting weight, but I have an idea. I will get home Friday afternoon, yea. Sat. I will take my measurements properly to get an idea of what I am dealing with.

I don't have much of an appetite due to the situation. It is a blessing not to be hungry. The juice has kept me busy in the bathroom again. The juice I am drinking is what ever was left in the fridge before we left. It has pineapple, apples, cucumber, celery, tangerines, asparagus, and carrots. It has a bit too much celery in it, but it's tolerable.

I don't know an exact date I will start the juice fast again. We need groceries as I emptied out the house. Maybe Sat.?, but it depends on if we can get groceries early enough in the morning.

I always laugh at how people who are vegetarians can talk about being vegetarians and people are "Oh, how wonderful you don't eat meat and you look so great" but if someone says they are doing a JUICE FEAST, it is "Oh, you are tried and feeling bad because u aren't getting enough protein as you are just on the juice." Well, juice is just the vegetables WITHOUT THE FIBER, so it isn't anything different than an vegetarian diet. Vegetables have protein. Check out how much is in broccoli, etc. You are probably feeling tired from the toxins coming out of your system as your intestines are being cleansed.
We bought a King size bed years ago as I hated sleeping with my husband who turned and tossed and he was hot like an oven.

MORTICIAADDAMS has a good point. Some of the fatigue you are feeling is likely to be caused by not having enough protein in your system while you are juicing. Is it possible to add some to your juice? Like maybe some protein powder? It could also be part of the source of your headache as well. On the other hand you will be in your own home soon and that may give you some relief from the tension you are feeling. Its rough when your DH is a drinker and goes on a binge. I know the hell that produces. Been through it, though DH has now been clean and sober for almost 9 years.
A good soak in a hot tub or a relaxing hot shower would also be of help in easing your tension. As would a good nap, which I hope you will be able to take. Best of luck with getting through this!

You sound so tire that it seems like juicing such a good idea. Are those symptoms expected with a juicing diet? Good luck and keep us posted emoticon

Do you think the juicing could be causing some of your fatigue. Out bodies need protein. All the carbs would make me tired regardless on my emotional state.

I found myself accidentally with a bite here or there too. I no longer count it against me :o) and neither should you.

Well done on sticking with the juicing while going through rough times. It is probably good for you as it is one thing you can control.

    Time2bloom,

Woohooo on overcoming issues and hanging in there with the juicing!
It isn't easy but you are going through it as a champ.
Push waters for the headache and just take it easy.

Btw.. only 5 days left till day 60!!! If I can do it, I know you can too.
Hang in there! you will be back home in a couple of days :) emoticon emoticon emoticon

i tried doing the juicing once, but it just wasnt for me, i guess it takes different things for different people, if you had a rice bag, heat it in the microwave and lay it on the back of your neck, that might help the headache, as i suspect its a tension headache, does your hotel have a big bath??? a good long soak in some lavender bathsalts or go to walmart or a local drug store and see if you can find some menthol bath soak

will work wonders for stress in the muscles
hope the juicing works out....
