You will soon figure out that I have a passive aggressive personality (not clinical just figuratively) as I feel guilty complaining about my sister-in-law. She's often like mother Teresa but blond and sweet. I really should be punished for complaining as she runs a business helping others in need, mostly rich and famous people.

I have a short term memory of a recent stay together in a 5 star hotel, just last month. She had every worker in the hotel fixing something. They replaced our refrigerator, added multiple extension cords, stocked the room with enough complimentary water to fill the Titanic, provided a truck load of complimentary shampoo, lotions, conditioner, towels and other room supplies. Made multiple visits to fix the lights, toilet and replacement of the room keys. She used the complimentary hotel limosine service to take her to the ER when her knee sweiled and then called them again to pick up her medicine after it was filled. She informed us later that she had some of the staff helping her get around the hotel as her knee was giving her excruciating pain. There were several male workers who were quick to offer their assistance, so she was all over the hotel going from pool to pool. She was very picky about the food and had no problem sending it back, if it did not suit her fancy.
If you are wondering how she was able to get this treatment. She managed a chain of Marriott Hotels and knows the tricks to get this service. It's sort of a game of hers to see just how much she can get out of staying in this ritzy hotel. I am too proud and too conscientious to bug the hotel staff. I try to humble myself when I stay in a hotel and feel everyone should be treated the same, the hotel staff are trying to make a living and I don't feel any more special than the next person.

I guess you get the picture! Hopefully she will realize we do not have the same amenities, service or capabilities of a 5 star hotel or an acute care hospital. I am sure the hospital will make sure she is well and ready to be discharged very soon.

I will put on my Love and Caring approach as there really is a sweet person in her that is undergoing a serious physical impairment.

Hope everyone has a sparktacular Thursday!

Yes, I agree with the others.......sometimes you just have to vent and let it out of your system!

Your sister-in-law sounds just like an Aunt of mine. When she comes to visit us, my husband's hair just stands on end. There is a word for people like that.....*****!, but I won't say it on here....LOL!

Because she has a physical impairment right now, maybe she will be different, because she needs the help. Plus, maybe she will get some good quality time with her brother. BTW, does she get under his skin too?

But is she's demanding and overbearing, the minute she's good to go, you'll have to tell her, it's time to go.

I'm hoping and praying, it will turn out to be good, and that she will be very appreciative for what you're doing.

And sometimes, you've just gotta let it out!!!! And that's what we're here for!

Love ya!

Aren't you glad you have this blog in which to express feelings better left unsaid aloud? Feel free to continue to use this forum to let off steam, since even the nicest house guest is still an intrusion in your everyday activities.

    W*O*W*!

I hope she is aware there are no limos or staff to attend to her every whim. Most people go to rehab, then home alone. If I was bold enough to ask to have somebody else house me, I would never consider asking for anything that they did not offer or already have on hand. It is the height of rudeness and ill breeding. Please do not get stressed out and run circles around her like she had strangers do for her. I would be mortified, as you were, to even think of asking for all of those things at the hotel.
I will pray that she will abide by your boundaries and extreme hospitality.
