Running for Forever!

As you may or may not have seen, I'm running three races this summer. I start my training on Monday. :) I may start waking up an hour early to just run around the area near my complex. It won't take much, and most people won't be out. That can't be too bad, right?

All three races are 5Ks ... I have the Run or Dye in June (six weeks - EEK!), the Color Vibe in July (three days before we go to France, woohoo!), and the Mud Factor in August (I get to climb things, YES!). So I need to like, start training. I'm pretty stoked, actually. I just need to find real running shoes. And a pair I can tear up and donate after the Mud Factor.

I just want to be a runner. I want to enjoy it. I want to lose weight.

The only thing that sucks is that I have what I think is a heel spur on the bottom of my left heel. My mom had them, and I used to laugh at her and give her crap about it. But dang, it HURTS. If I don't stretch my heel or prepare it, it gets angry. Supposedly only cortisone shots or grinding the bone down are ways to take care of it. Apparently the more weight I lose, the less they will bother me. But we will see if that holds true. Once I get going though, I'm fine. Anyone have any experience with this?

My best friend is coming down today and we are going to go to the gym for an hour or so before we head to lunch/dinner. It's going to be awesome. I'm gonna do a lot of ab and chest work today. I need it, lord knows!

Then I'm going home and going to bed. BED. BEEEEED.

I want to hit my 50 lbs. mark in two weeks. Feasible? I think so. I'd like to hit my 15 percent in three or four weeks. Man ... I am getting SO close to my goal for France. 15 more pounds! It looks more and more feasible the closer the date gets. I may be closer to 70 or 80 by July.

Which means my 90-100 by the time school starts again would be AWESOME. That would put me more than halfway to my goal ... When the day comes I hit one-derland, I'm going to cry. I keep picturing it. And I'm feeling amazing now ... What will 100s feel like? When I'm a regular runner? When I'm a better football player and coach? Ugh. SO READY.
