I'm so excited about moving into our new home. We haven't officially moved it yet. That will happen this weekend. Our new furniture has been delivered and we're taking some clothes over today. Everything is slowly coming together!
The best part about this move though will be putting our kitchen together. My husband and I eat pretty well, but there are certainly items in our current pantry that we can live without. Tonight, I'm going to go through the pantry and only pack the healthy items. Everything else is going. Even if it's something I would use like Pam cooking spray, I'm tossing it. They make better-for-you cooking sprays now (Anyone have one they love?).
The goal is to only keep grains, beans, nuts, and baby food in the pantry. Somehow our old cupboard filled up with chips, crakers, and cake mix, which my husband squirrled into the house. I'm putting my foot down. I think I might even put labels in the pantry, so there officially won't be a place for those things in there.
Maybe I'll do the same for our fridge. I've been on sparkrecipes.com all morning developing a grocery list. Again, I'm only putting healthy stuff in our fridge. I started my list by just listing items, but then I decided to list by categories (meat, veggies, fruits, grains, dairy, good fats, etc.) that way I know exactly what's going into that fridge--Nothing will sneak in on me.
I'm so excited to start cooking fresh foods in my new kitchen! That microwave blueberry muffin recipe that was featured yesterday looks devide. That maybe what I cook to christen the microwave. Nom nom nom nom.
OKAY, now I'm hungry.
