Welcome back to Symphony of Prayer Newsletters. Last lesson we began a new study series with looking at the Hebrew Names of God, our first name was entitled, Adonai, the Lord my Great God.
Devotional: This lesson we look at the 2nd name of the series entitled, Elhoim, the All Powerful One.
Elhoim: God is the all powerful Creator of the Universe. Genesis 1:1-3; 4-31
God knows all, Deuteronomy 10:17
Creates all and is everywhere at all times. Psalm 68, Mark 13:19.
Pronounced: el-o-HEEM. The name is usually associated with God in relation to His Creation.
Some people use the plural form of the name “Elhoim” as proof for the
Trinity. Genesis 1:26. “Man Created in Our Image”.
The very nature of God, the all powerful One is revealed in Creation, Genesis 1:1-3. 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[a] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Is this your desire to know Elhoim? The One who spoke galaxies into existence with His Word, the all powerful One who created Man in His own image?
Beginning: God is the creator of all things. God is the Beginning, the Cause and the Source of all that there is.
Created: The sovereign power of God something new was brought into being.
Heavens and the Earth: God created the Heavens and the Earth, above, around and below, He spoke His Word and all was created and brought into existence.
Earth without Form: by the sovereign originative power of God something new was brought into being.
Light, Evening & Morning, Dry Land, Sun Moon and Stars, Living Creatures in the Waters, Animals: Designed to provide another visible demonstration of the Creator’s power.
Man Created: According to Genesis 1:26, God calls on the Members of the Trinity to centre all attention on this event, when “Man” was created. Man was distinctly different than the animals already created. He stood on a much higher plateau, for God created him to be immortal, and made him a special image of His own eternity.
Man was a creature God could visit, communicate and have fellowship with. Man was to be responsible to and answer to God; he was also given the privilege of choice, even to the point of disobeying. God desired for man to be a responsible representative and steward on the earth, to work out God’s Will and fulfill His purpose.
Is this your desire to fulfill the all powerful One’s Will?
To recap, we studied the second Hebrew Name of God, Elhoim, “All Powerful One”. We discovered that the “All Powerful One” knows all and created all.
God is everywhere at all times.
We learned that some people use the plural form of the name “Elhoim” as proof for the Trinity. Genesis 1:26. “Man Created in Our Image”.
The very nature of God, the all powerful One is revealed in Creation, Genesis 1:1-3.
The sovereign power of God brought something new into being.
God made everything, He desires for Man to have fellowship, communion with Him and fulfill His purpose and will here on earth. God has a plan and a purpose for all man who dwells on the face of the earth. Is it your desire to fulfill “Elhoim’s Will”, the All Powerful One who has a plan for your life?
