Happy May Day!

It finally isn't snowing today (though it is blowing sideways and raining torrentially). emoticon

I have been a slug again... what am I going to do with myself? lol
My husband has been working a ton (meaning gone more than 24 hours at a time) and out of town... I think we've had him home for 1.5 days in the last two weeks. Needless to say, I'm tired... no, exhausted. I am getting lunches packed and dinner on the table and the kids to bed and school and me to work... but the exercising and the desire to eat right... gone.

So, a couple of co-workers decided to do this crazy squat challenge in May (starting today of course)... working up to 250 squats/day. Yeah, crazy. So, instead of just joining them, I thought... I need to work on my abs... let's make it squats and crunches.

Today was Day 1. Before work, I did 50 squats and 50 bicycle crunches (on each side). Tomorrow is 55 (no sweat!).

I still need to get on my treadmill - since the weather is not looking like spring is coming here this year. But, hubby gets to come home tomorrow (for 2 whole days!)... so maybe I'll try that tomorrow - unless I get energetic tonight.

My plan for May?
*The squat/ab challenge daily.
* Eat 5 servings of fruits/veggies.
* Increase my cardio exercising (to 5 times/week by May 25-31).

emoticon Oh, and someone else mentioned a No-Weigh May (not weighing themselves the entire month...) I'm not sure I could do it (and I do WW, but I wouldn't count those weigh in's) - but could I avoid the home scale all month?? Could you? Something to think about...

    Set my May goals and not a one of them had to do with my weight. emoticon

    Wow, I don't feel so bad about myself. Totally addicted to the scale, however I don't really take it serious as it goes up and down daily. Just try to keep it averaged out and only count my Friday weigh in. I read a blog yesterday about doing squats and tried it the way she explained it. Knees didn't hurt and I was actually huffing and puffing at 50, so I am thinking that this is a better way to do them. Can't explain it like she did - sorry. Your challenges sound terrific, as well as your goals.

    What a great challenge for yourself! Your goals sound super impressive.

I am very intense about weighing myself. I only really count "official" weigh ins at my doctor, which means that I only get real numbers every few months (or more often when I get sick). But I do check my weight at home to see how I'm doing a few times a day. I think it's super helpful to at least see the ups and downs.

    Changelife- I feel the same way.. but yet I go on vacation without a scale and don't gain weight... so maybe I'm using the scale as a crutch? The more I think about it, the more I want to try it! Once a week at WW for me is it (except for this morning since I didn't learn about it before I weighed... lol).

    i have to weigh myself. I actually do better when i see what i weigh and hold myself accountable. Its when i don't weigh and eat horrible and i have no reminder of my weight gain that i do bad! we are having the same weather you are having!! so yes treadmill all the way for me too!
