Asking "What am I Responsible for? How do I 'own' these things in my life?"
1 Feelings_take possession of my feelings, neither ignoring them or letting others be "in charge" of them
2. Attitudes and beliefs_ don't be afraid to feel their effect on you and others accept them in your heart or you can change them. Matt.15:3 Follow God's commandments not traditions; Prov13,18, 24 accept correction and discipline
3.Behaviors_ You reap what you sow Gal 6:7,8 Do not rescue others from "natural consequences...they must accept responsibility for their own behaviors
4.Choices_ take control of your choices Josh 24:15 Choose this day whom you will serve... you will choose to live in sinful God's Spirit or on sinful nature - there is no grey area.
5. Values ...what we love ... admit if you have wrong values so God can change them.
6.Set Limits by God's standard.
-a.limit your exposure to evil ...be separate Matt 18:15-17 1Cor 5:13
-b.Set internal limits=self control without repression Learn to say NO to destructive desires or even the good ones if the wrong time or place.
7.Talents...Matt 25:23 make good use of your talents Matt 25:26-28 even if you are afraid, confront the fear and try anyway.
...to be continued through 8,9,10....to end of chapter 2
This study is confirmed in my life every day...amazing how I am learning boundaries in my faith and ministry walks and in my dieting/health seeking. Learning some new limits that I can set and just "do it" without fear is huge to me!!!
Painting by Morgan Weistling - artist. This is a treasured picture for years...makes me think of pictures of me when I was a little girl. Prayer has always been a large part of my Christian walk and ministry to and for others.

Hey! I think I am reading this same book, but the cover is different. I started reading it because I recommended it to a client and thought I should read it so I know more about the book. It is proving very helpful. Praying for us both as we learn boundaries for life. HUGS

Each one of the seven points you discussed in your blog are well worth studying. I could spend a lot of time on all those subjects. Just think how much better this world would be if everyone's heart was touched by subjects !!!

I was not raised as a Christian, I love how you treasure that about your own life.

I appreciate your Boundary notes, I did this study a bunch of years ago and it was very powerful. RIght now I'm doing "Me Myself and Lies" by Jennifer Rothschild, about what we have in our "thought closet".
