Week 5 Day 1 Couch to 5K

There was a thunderstorm yesterday morning so I didn't run and decided to do Turbo Jam: 20-min Jam. I wasn't sure if I'd run in the evening or not and I didn't want to risk not doing anything at all. I was really bummed out because I was looking forward to doing the three 1/2 mile run intervals.

I don't really like running in the evenings because it's usually very hot and humid. I really didn't want to throw off my schedule so in the end I went out around 8:30 pm. It turned out to be breezy! I was so pleasantly surprised.

The run was challenging. I had to push myself a lot but I did it. I still get the burning in my calves after running for a bit but that sensation eventually dissipated. My left toes started to go numb towards the end, I think I tied my laces a little too tight again, but once I got to the walking cool down that sensation also left. No shin pain. My thighs didn't feel like they were going to give out. My endurance will improve over time. I'm at least noticing when I'm getting tired and my form starts to become bad and can quickly correct it.

These next two weeks are going to be intense but I'll do it!
