Ice Chandeliering video

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

I saw a beautiful video on the news this evening and wanted to share it with you all. It's one of the wonders of living in MN. during any of the seasons. I have never seen this before. Enjoy!! This happens when the winds and temps are just right.
(Be sure your sound is on so you can hear the background.)

We have enjoyed the warmth the past couple days but that is changing for the remainder of the week. Windows will be closed again! Would be nice if we could just delete this week and move on to next Mon.!! (But the rain is needed). Rain and winds will help the ice melt this week. So many lakes are still not cleared of ice and Mother's Day weekend is also opening fishing for the state.

That is fantastic. I have never seen that before either. Thanks. Hang in there weather wise. We have high wind warnings, with possible rain, but I won't hold my breath hehe.

I saw this last night too, but watched it again thanks to your blog---just awesome. It would be nice if that was the end to winter, but we had to get some for your return Eileen hahaha

Sorry your weather is turning cold! I had heard that your area was going to be getting up to a foot of snow! Hope it isn't that much where you are, that is unbelievable in May! Although, I heard this morning that the panhandle of Texas is getting snow, too.
Can't wait to view the video, I'll bet it is amazing! Thanks for sharing, take care, and have a great day! Stay Warm! emoticon

I just saw the video! So strange and fascinating to see that ice splintering spontaneously and creating those piles of lacy ice! emoticon

WCCO showed it also, as well as MSN featuring it. So strange to watch it because it seems absolutely surreal!

This May snow is awful. Hopefully it comes down mostly as rain and if there are any flakes it melts quickly. Seriously, we've been getting bits of snow since what, October? 7 months is too long to have winter.

No! I refuse to 'skip' this week. We have 70's and sunshine forecast. I need more outdoor time.
