changing my signon name.

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

It has been pointed out to me that my name mormonnomore 2 is negative. I am thinking of making a change to my account name. Is there anyway I can do that without losing the points I have under this account name? Who would I check with on this? Any ideas?

Just only change your name if YOU want to. I can see why the person made the comment, because you're still kind of defining yourself by what you aren't any more but once were - but maybe that's right for you if you're in a post- Mormon period of reflection and discovery. I think the person who made the comment was (ironically) being negative themselves. Although it might be FUN to contemplate a new name, if the timing is right for you.

Sorry someone said that to you. There's always one in the crowd. I've never considered your nic to be negative. I'm guessing the comment was negative, too.

Things that make you go "Hmm."

I supposee your username could be considered negative .... on the other hand, it's a statement about who you are and where you are now

because I'm an evangelical Protestant Christian, I think you no longer following the Mormon belief system is a GOOD thing and I don't know what's wrong with announcing that

we live in an age where being "politcally or socially correct" is (in my opinion) making everyone afraid to say anything & that's sad because what it means is that for all our societal talk of "embracing diversity" we are becoming more & more close minded and have no tolerance for opposing points of view and thus the only thing that's "acceptable" is what your next door neighbor (or whoever) believes ...... as long as that's in agreement with what *his* neighbor believes or says

I DID THIS! I started with CARMENJEAN1969 and it was not working for me, so after a week of joining, I changed to CARMENCRUNCH and it automatically changed all my posts to my new name, losing nothing, no points, everything else stayed the same!

Please go to the main page and click "help" on the top. I am sure there are others who have done the same thing and they will have an answer for you. And I congratulate you on searching for a new name - it does make a difference. Good luck!

Contact us if we don't get to you, in case we don't get your new name. I don;t want to loose a good person as yourself as a friend.

Yes you can change your name in Account Preferences (on the top left hand corner of your Start page). I helped a friend change her user name using that method; she did not lose any points. Let us know your new name when you change it!

I think you can just change your name without it taking anything away from you.

emoticon Wait, I was wrong! But You CAN Change it
It is on your Start Page. Just under the "Start" at the Top Left of your account, there is a button that says "Acct/E-Mail Preferences. Click on that and scroll down, and you will see a place close at the top to change your Username.
    emoticon Good Luck!!
