today, i signed up for two running/walking/jogging events for this summer..
the first is Run or Dye, and i signed up with friends, and our oldest daughters. my daughter is nearly 10. it's a 5K course, and it looks like a ton of fun. it's not timed, so no pressure. this one doesn't have a definite date yet, so i'm REALLY hoping it doesn't conflict with my summer vacations.
the second is the Dirty Dash, which is basically a mud run, with minor obstacles along the course. i'm trying to get my friend/neighbour to do it with me. this one is 4K or 8K (your choice), i'm hoping to do the 8K. i won't be able to run the whole thing, but i'll try my best. if my friend doesn't do it with me, i might try to get someone else to. this one is timed, but just want to get out and do it for fun.
if anyone remembers, last year, i really wanted to do the Warrior Dash with my hubby, but he chickened out, and then i totally gave up on the whole exercise/eating healthy thing. so this year, i figure if he doesn't want to do it, i'll find friends who do, and that will help motivate me for a longer time. tomorrow, i will for sure get back into my c25k (might repeat W6D2, since it's been a week since i last ran). and if i have friends who are counting on me to be there, i'll have to stay on track, right!!
