What I wanted to do for the month in review was to weigh myself. Being unable to afford either a doctor visit or a "my size" scale (one that goes to 400), I will focus on goals and inches instead.
1) Drink 8+ 8 ounce glasses of water a day --> Goal Met
2) Exercise 15 minutes a day --> Goal almost exceeded. Currently (when I am not in pain- exercise for 35 minutes each day)
3) Drop the soda--> Goal Met
4) Cut portions in half- From 4 servings to 2 servings per meal -->goal Met
5) Eat Healthier on the same budget--> Goal Met
Results from meeting goals are small really.
-I no longer sleep in my recliner at night or during the afternoon hours from boredom/exhaustion
-I feel better about myself (slightly)
-I've lost 10.25 inches from my body this month. (normally I find it in the bottom of a bag of chips a week or so later, and a few extra inch friends of theirs- so I won't hold my breath on the number results)
Goals for month 2:
Increase exercise to 40 minutes/day
Aim for consistent 10 glasses of water a day
Eat breakfast daily
These should be small steps as I am already almost there, breakfast will be the biggest problem. I know I need to eat it, but I am just not hungry until mid morning through 2pm. That is when I "graze all afternoon"
Day 28 Blog Entry:
I did quite a bit today. I pushed myself for my 35 minutes with Lady Kettleball. The husband pressured me to update my resume and apply at IT focused employment agencies. I did that was well. I got all the floors swept and mopped, and made the family home made brownies.
I have been failing terribly at quitting smoking. I tried to not have any cigarettes in the house today, that went over badly. Headache in the late afternoon, causing me to lay down until the family got home. But, I did not stuff my face with food! I did go out and buy a pack of cigarettes at about 8pm. I managed to go about 16 hours without one this time. The husband was right, I should have never picked the habit back up. I had quit for years before we moved here, and now, being stuck at home with no vehicle and no job...I just did not want to turn to food to fill the boredom.
The daughter and I played minecraft in the evening. She is not worried at all about her testing this week over math. I taught her the mode, median, mean and range rhyme to help her with that aspect of the testing. Her daddy is usually the math helper and I am the designated language arts/spelling/reading helper, so I stepped outside my comfort zone for that.
As for the home made brownies. I only had ONE! Then I packed the rest for the family to take in their lunches after they had 2 each. Husband even had me pack one for his work buddy!
I got in 10 glasses of water today (barely). I was up at 11:30pm because it was hot today and we have no air conditioner, so I got the last one in then. I stayed within calorie range today as well. It is getting easier, but I fear it is because I am losing weight and am now in a lower calorie bracket. Which is the reason for wanting to weigh myself to update my spark weight page.
Good day overall, barring the nicotine problems.
