Las Vegas & Losing In a Good Way!

I have been in Las Vegas for 8 days. On Wednesday night we are going to the Elton John concert. We are in the burbs and have adjusted to the heat and go out in the evenings to walk. We are home bodies here and by the end of the day we are tired from taking care of the household.

Got to think about what the next streak should be. In the 43 days of Nutrition Tracking I had one alcoholic drink, a light beer. I guess that is a streak, alcohol free but I am ok with the occassional drink. When I drink a glass of wine before dinner it seems to stimulate my appetite.

Hubby & I do the cooking while our daughter is healing. We eat differently than DD. She is into almond milk, organic foods, little meat, juicing with veggies & fruit. I will try a kale smoothie one day. We discussed the merits of organic and I agree with organic animal products because of the hormones and antibiotics given to the animals. For plants, I think it is more efficient to use non-harmful chemicals to increase food production. I am OK with us having different opinions about organic foods.

I bought a new pair of yoga pants to replace the pair I bought in December which are now too big. I am down a pant size.

I am looking forward to the Spring Challenge. We have a lot of new members and lots of winter challengers, a good mix. I am really committed to getting my 5% in the 8 weeks. If I can lose another 4 pounds before the challenge starts, I could hit 199 by the end of the next challenge. My weight has been trending downward and I am optomistic again about where it is headed.

    You're doing an amazing job! Good job with your streaks! I'm on day #120 of my streak of being on track. Sure, there are days when I've gone over my calories, but, as long as it all averages out for that week, I'm okay. Plus, I've never really just let loose and said to heck with it and ate whatever I wanted. When I did go over, I tracked it all. So, you should give yourself some leeway with the occasional drink. Keep up the good work!!

    I so agree with Almond milk which has 50 % more calcium then reg. milk. I have made switched to un sweeten Almond milk as well. I like the taste of it too. Also little meet as possible. Love veggie and fruits smoothie. I am starting to like plant- based foods more then animals foods. My body feels much better. Thanks for sharing this post and so happy you are doing good on your streak. Enjoy your concert. (^.^)

    Your last sentence is my mantra! Do it in the morning so I don't find an excuse (or ten) to not do it all day. Congrats on maintaining in Las Vegas--I think that would be hard to do. Keep up the great work!

    I do occasionally use a little non organic fertilizer on my plants but stay away from chemical herbicides and pesticides. I am the only person in my immediate family that has not had cancer so I try to be careful since I suspect I am high risk.
