My Aunt Harriet didn't want a funeral, she wanted us to have a party and keep on living. Funny she was the go to person when it came down to funeral get through the moments. She made the phone calls, passed the box of Kleenex, comforted the cranky babies, laughed and joked with the nieces and nephews, was queen babysitter, was the scrappy Aunt, the loud talking, take you down Aunt, the Aunt who fought hard and loved hard, the baby of the family. As I write this I know that God answered her prayers, healed her, wrapped his loving arms around her and she is so happy to be with Grandma, see her brother Sam who was called home in 1974, see her Dad-Grandfather who went home in 1979, and all the other family and friends gone before. She told me when my Mom passed, she is on angel wings and they will guide me forever.
So with mixed emotions, I do not weep for her passing, but I rejoice in the fact Harriet is healed and I will see her again!
